A critically acclaimed racing game, Asphalt 8: Airborne was released by Gameloft Barcelona back in 2013. Its control scheme depends on which version is being played, with the PC version using more traditional racing controls while the smartphone version can choose between four different options like Tilt to steer and On-screen controls. Asphalt has two main modes: Career and World Series. Career is a single player that counts with various seasons, and each one of these is made of various events. Each one is measured with a five-star rating system, with three of them awarded depending on which placement the player gets. And the other two depending on secondary objectives. Asphalt 8 focuses on jumping, with tracks featuring ramps and allowing players to use nitro to extend their airtime. Each season is harder than the last and players must earn a number of stars during previous events to unlock them. The other mode is multiplayer, playable locally through Wi-Fi and globally against any opponent. In this mode, players can increase their levels and earn credits through leveling up. These credits are used to buy and customize one of 195 cars separated into five classes. Multiple locations are featured in the game, with tracks taking place in cities like Barcelona and Venice. The game is constantly updated and seasons have been added multiple times. After seven titles, Asphalt 8: Airborne looks like it has polished its racing series to a mirror shine.
